Marking the opening of the Guild of Agricultural Journalists & Communicators 50th Anniversary celebrations in 2008, a promising young agricultural journalist Tim Fulton was presented with the UK-NZ Link Foundation Rural Journalist Travel Award at a function at the British Consulate-General in Auckland on Monday 21st April 2008. Hosted by British Honorary Consul-General John Waugh on behalf of the Foundation and the Guild, Friends of the Link and other invited guests also had the opportunity to hear from BBC environmental journalist Alex Kirby (pictured) during his fleeting visit to New Zealand.
