Wallace Arts Award

16 November 2005

From 2001 to 2004, the NZ-UK Link Foundation supported the Wallace Arts Awards Paramount Award, in the provision of funding for a London residency for the winning artist. This was won in 2004 by Auckland artist Jim Speers, in 2003 by Dunedin-based Jeffrey Harris and in 2002 by Judy Millar.

Pictured is  Jim Speer's Paramount Award-winning bright and exhilarating artwork "English Electric".

In his report (a pdf of which can be downloaded below), Speers says, "The primary outcome from the travel...has been a great addition to the ideas I carry around as an artist. There could also be some more identifiable outcomes from having the opportunity to meet people."
