Pickens Picked

30 June 2011

Marcus Pickens, a NZ wine industry professional from Marlborough (pictured right), has been selected as the first Wine Marlborough-John Avery-NZ-UK Link Foundation Scholar. He has already spent a period in the UK meeting key viticulture players. Read about it in the latest Link newsletter (19), where you'll also be able to find out who has been selected as the Foundation's second Visiting Professor, meet the latest Elman Poole Music Scholar and the latest NZ Discretionary Award winner.

Also included are thoughts from Professor Margaret Wilson, the NZ-UK Link Foundation's first Visiting Professor, on the fact that the NZ-UK link is sometimes underestimated, and from the new British High Commisioner to NZ, Vicki Treadell on the indelible ties between our two countries.

We farewell Richard Fell, who is stepping down as chair of the Foundation, and welcome new chair Sir Graeme Davies, former vice-challencer of the University of London, who is looking forward to his new role
